A fortnight ago, President Uhuru Kenyatta said former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, is one of the opposition leaders in Kenya who go around the world speaking ill about his own country to get funds from donors.
Speaking after he landed in the country from The Hague where he was attending his Status Conference, Uhuru even went ahead to use harsh words to those leaders who boot- lick western leaders to get donor funds.“Si munajua hao watu ambao wanaenda hapa na pale wakiongea maneno machafu? Wanaenda kulamba matako ya watu wengine wakikusanya pesa.” (Don’t you know those people moving about speaking ill of Kenya? They boot-lick donors to get money),” Uhuru said.
On Friday, Uhuru’s words came to pass after the Germany Government offered Sh 35 million to support Raila Odinga’s referendum calls.
A month ago, Raila was on a begging mission in Germany and it seems his boot-licking bore fruits.
Other countries that are expected to support Raila’s referendum are United Kingdom and France.
United States is yet to support the referendum but USAID operatives in Kenya are busy working with the opposition with an aim of changing the regime.
